Well worth the wait, this R&S installment was a nice collection of Hip-Hop hotness at a time when the music was very bland. Nas said Hip-Hop was dead but that is surely a lie due to the head nod factor of this CD. Chock full of features from fellow iLL Campers gettin' it in on RIG's crate dug gems, this is a nice addition to any music lovers discography. If you can't find it anywhere, just wait. It'll come back out soon.
It's Christmas time for the King of kings, and I'm eatin' chicken & collard greens or so the old school Run-DMC holiday hit goes. So since its the season for giving, original iLL Camp member Bonus & fellow beatbanga/MC TeeZY-T join forces to hit the people off with their very first selection called...
Yo sweat the technique! Herron gets it in @ the Breakfast Club in Charlotte to tape his music video for the song "Quarter 2 Eight Hoppa" featuring Sonny Cheeba of Camp Lo. Shit was butta with real djs, mcs & b-boys. My type a hype. In between sets, freestyle cyphas & breakdance battles broke out. See if you can see the cameo by ya mainMAN chillin' wit Charles plus the drizzy Amaretto crew in a coupla scenes. Piece & Naps.
We are not your average, everyday, run-of-the-mill rappers that all sound alike. We can't stand the lack of diversity in hip-Hop music today so we come together with more flavors than Baskin Robbins. The mix of subject matter and rhyme style blend to give you an odd angle perspective of an unusual emcee. This is also a tribute to one the dopest movies and cast ever assembled. "And like that, he's gone."
Here it is. Bam! In yo face, hot damn. This is the dope jam. iCTV takes a look at some early footage of the Camp performing at iLL Fest 2006. This event was hosted by Walt Mass & H-Wood at the American Legion Auditorium in Lancaster, SC. Acts from all over the state showed up and showed out. They included OTC, Troublesum, DJ Twice & Kool-Aid, Rudisell, J30 of PayDay, Flawless, and of course the iLL Camp massive. The showcase was followed by a crucial freestyle battle between Scoop of OTC and J30 of PayDay. Prizes and trophies were awarded. All in all, we had a ball.
This was a bit of step away from the norm. Beatmaster RIGID created a soulful blend joint mixing industry cats verses with iLL Camp underground verses on top of his signature tracks. What resulted is a clash of the titans that will make you question which was harder, the original or the oRIGIDal? Choose one.
A throwback compilation from the dude RIGID. This piece broke ground in 2007 and gave alot of unknown emcees the chance to get their rocks off on a beat supreme, courtesy of beatmaster himself. This was a nice collection of work well worth the listening. If you have acopy of this piece, it might be mine since someone jacked my copy. Peace & nappiness.
You finally get to get down to the nitty gritty with ya mans & them; X-Man, Shadowman & mainMAN. This iCTV Exclusive documents the origins of an X-Man and his adaptation to the mutated state of Hip-Hop. It also chronicles the foreshadowing of Shadowman's newly released street banger, The Evil In Beauty. And it is all brought to you live & in living color on the streets of Lancaster by ya unfriendly neighborhood mainMAN. Its guaranteed to be more enjoyable than a root canal.
Here goes the iLL Camp throwback debut CD from my man Avalanche entitled "Insane". He almost did a Tupac and recorded this gem like the 7 day Theory because Avalanche don't need no pen & paper. He can damn near freestyle entire songs because he is just that iLL! Production is by Camp front man R.I.G.I.D. and the features are well put together. This joint is such a classic, it had to be converted from cassette. A definite banger.
Whatup Hip-Hop Heads? It's ya unfriendly neighborhood mainMAN dropping a few jewels on ya like a clumsy pirate. This time around I decided to hitchu with a concept mixtape to show these youngems the roots of our culture. I used all 80's era old school beats with fresh subject matter and rhymes galore. There's a few features on board as well so I hope you got correct change because there's no refunds on this joint. Because this is a promotional CD you can download the whole piece below. Enjoy this educational entertainment.
BBC member & iLL Camp affiliate Shadowman dropped his new banger last week. It literally burned up the streets because it sold out its first run already! This official classic is filled with lyrics and beats for your ears & ass to enjoy. The head nod factor from this one is tremendous. Production credits go to X-Man, R.I.G.I.D. & DJ Shah Boogie while the features are well put together. If you see this one somewhere, steal it if you ain't got the money becuz its worth it. Or go to Shadowman's MySpace to cop this hotshit.
So Cold & iLL Camp teamed up in 2004 to transform into the Lancaster super group, Enemy Territory. Releasing a buzz-worthy collaboration also called "The Buzz", this early compilation was both entertaining & groundbreaking. Produced entirely by X-Man & R.I.G.I.D. in the Sweatshop Studio, which also happens to be the birthplace of the Camp, the features are relentless. Bonus and S.L.A.M. show their lyrical prowess while J.White and Gusto give listeners a healthy dose of versatility. A variety of other MC's drop thru from King G to Avalanche, to T-Streets and Flawless, the combination's don't stop. X & Rig even lend a verse or two adding their distinctive flavor to this Hip-Hop gumbo.
I didn't win the Hot 16 Bar Exam put on by BET, Nike & Just Blaze but here is my entry. I believe the finalists that they did pick are all cornballs with the exception of Damone, he was nice. Fre$h was ehhhhh but you be the judge for yourself & click here. Word is that Crown Royal won but who knows for sure. There is no way they looked at all the entries & got this many bad contestants in the finals. It is what it is tho. Peace & nappiness.
Today your unfriendly neighborhood mainMAN was inducted into the BET Hip-Hop Academy. What this means is that he is responsible in helping to choose this years BET Hip-Hop Award recipients. This induction was based on his knowledge of the culture and his love for the artform. Congrats, mainMAN & keep Hip-Hop alive.
The show airs October 27th at 8pm eastern or 7pm central and is hosted by funny dude, Mike Epps. Ice Cube is getting the legend award and everybody and they mama is performing. It's going down in Atlanta but if U want more info, click the pics on this post or here. Peace & nappiness.

The hood reporter, H-Wood is giving you breaking news about what's really going down in the streets of Lancaster, SC. Born in Philly and bred in the Red Rose City, H-wood was originally one half of the group FLAWLESS with fellow emcee Dee Jay and has decided to drop a solo effort in the current hiatus. His smooth delivery mixed with several iLL Camp features is bound to keep you both informed and entertained.
I get more pounds than in London, so give ya dude dap cause I'm back. This is some hardcore revolutionary Hip-Hop shit. Times are changing so the content of the music has to change with the world. mainMAN tackles several touchy subjects while staying in tune to the old Chinese philosophy that the hand is mightier than the fist. The revolution will not be televised but it has been digitized on this CD
.
My dude Loose Cannon gives you both street knowledge and book smarts over RIGIDs rugged instrumentals. Loose has a no nonsense approach to Hip-Hop that you either love or hate and he wouldn't have any other way. As one of the cofounders of the iLL Camp movement, you can be sure to hear him on alot of future tracks.
Guess What?, mainMAN aka Big Man Main is a finalist in the 7 Grand MC Contest. The final round is coming up in the next coupla months so wish good fortune on ya dude. The winner gets to record a song with Guru for the next Jazzmatazz Album & go on the Timebomb Tour. Click here to check it out.
On a chilly day in January, the 31st to be exact, mainMAN along with a plethera of other talented singers & rappers such as Yum Yum & H-Wood of Flawless, joined together to give a great perfomance. Its Exposure Tour 2009 and it was sponsored by In & Out Photography plus Big Den Records. Some of the proceeds went to the Blackmon Road Foundation. Hosted by the allnighter Eddie Owens & DJ Smooth the entertainment was pretty cool but since this is an iLL Camp site, let's get right into some mainMAN.
This is just installment 1 of 4 so be on the look out.
The wait is over. The Real iLLness is now upon you all. After many days of listening to the wackness that has become rap music, main & RIG decided to join forces a create a much needed breath of fresh air to the game. Produced entirely by the beatmaster himself, Rugged Instrumentals aka R.I.G.I.D. and with very few featured artists, this collaboration is genius. Get one and judge for yourself. You and every other official Hip-Hop head on Earth will not be disappointed. Peace & nappiness.
Hosted by The Carolina's Finest on the 1's & 2's, William P. aka DJ K-Smooth. Check him out every Sunday at Chocolate City in Cheraw, South Carolina. This Mixtape is one of many for this incredible DJ but it is one that you will not forget. Cop this joint.
Ya unfriendly neighborhood mainMAN & RIGID hit up the most official Hip-Hop exhibition thus far. Staged at the Blake Hotel in the Queen City on May 8th 2009, the show was full of urban art, b-boys, fly ladies and music. Not to mention the free flowing drinks courtesy of Jack Daniels. The DJ's and bands were on point to give a nice blend of the before & after of real Hip-Hop music, ranging from James Brown to 9th Wonder. The breakers kept the spot amped and there were also a few celebrities in the house. Overall, fresh to def.
Your favorite underground Hip-Hop heads have been exposed in a good way. Local Lancaster tell-all blog extraordinaire http://www.29seven20.com/ features iLL Camp in the Artist Spotlight section for the month. With an official interview with front man R.I.G.I.D., this article gives a bit of an insight into the group and it's musical purpose. It also gives schedule information about new show appearances. We feel thankful to be featured this way because it has been a great avenue of exposure for iLL Camp. If you don't believe me then check it out for yourself. Click here. Peace & nappiness.
