Death of An Icon - Guru

5.01.2010

Unfortunately, Gangstarr founder and monotone emcee mastermind, Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal aka Guru has passed on. The victim of both cancer and controversy, iLL Camp would like to both pay our condolences to the Elam family and pay homage to the man Keith Elam for being such an inspiration to us as Hip-Hop heads and fans who enjoy truth in music. Guru was the epitome of realness in music and it will forever be evident in his legacy. Long live the Gangstarr Foundation and Hip-Hop as a culture but it has definitely lost a true soldier. RIP.

New Top Secret Info About iLL Camp Revealed!

3.27.2010

Information has been leaked by very reliable sources that the iLL Camp crew has a brand new recording facility allegedly called the Camp Site. This state of the art sound lab in housed in an undisclosed location, very hush-hush. Engineers X-Man, R.I.G.I.D., Kompleet Trackz and P are said to be completing multiple projects as we speak. The following aerial satellite photography is said to be actual blueprint caricatures of the Camp Sites architecture. With an in-house studio there is no limit to the infinite possibilities. Please don't be so simple as to ask any of the iLL Camp brethren about any of this information because they taken a sworn oath of silence that only allows them entry. You never heard any of this from me. This message will self-destruct.

Walt Mass - Soul 2 Soul

2.23.2010

Back to back heat can only mean one thing: global warming! The camp got planet Earth on fire with the newest installment from the lethal lyricist himself, Walt Mass. Giving some much needed Hip-Hop soul food to the music scene, my dude pours his heart out on thirteen RIGID tracks to complete his third full length project.

Family man by day and emcee by mic, Walt Mass has such a diverse subject pattern, you will never get bored with him talking bout the same shit over and over (dontcha hate that). From some good old fashioned "G-Shit" to heading off to a "Betta Place", Walt decided to keep his features to a minimum by only deploying H-Wood, mainMAN, RIGID & X-Man on certain joints. How else could he give it to you Soul 2 Soul?

Overall, this iC banga was well worth the wait and its weight in gold so cop this instantaneously. Because before you know it we will be dropping more iLLness on your ever loving Hip-Hop head so stay tuned. 4ever sucka free.

Entertainment Tuesdays at Club Kilimanjaro

Bellz Entertainment sponsored a talent showcase at Club Kilimanjaro 3001 E. Independence Blvd, in the Queen City and ya unfriendly neighborhood mainMAN went & go his rocks off. Of course, there was ya typical "I'll kill ya & fuck ya moms" crunk rappers in the house but there was also a sprinkling of neo-soul and true MCing in there as well.
Even though I only did one song, it was well recieved, even by the younger dudes, so love is love. Holla Magazine was in the place to be and all the proceeds that night went to a kids reading charity so it was definately a good cause. They was even doing a video vixen fly girl search and tried they best to get my wife to sign up but she smiled'em off with her fine ass.
All in all, I had a ball but doubt that I will be back anytime soon unless the whole camp wants to dive in. If you want info on how to get your rocks off, here's the math: 704.299.2993 or silvurbellz@yahoo.com

mainMAN - Takin' U Wit Me

2.08.2010

To kick off the new year, i decided to go back, way back to my first joint. It was actually available on cassette only (remember those?!) but i remastered it and redid the cover art. Back then, my dude Handz had Beathouse Studios on smash and myself plus the fanats use to get it in. Oh how i miss the early 90's. The green was good, the beats were hard and if you was wack on the M-I-C, you got thrashed by everyone, chicks especially. Now in the days of dumbdowndedness, if you sound like everyone else and the beat can play in the strip club, you the man. That's why I had to go back to reexamine my foundation and make sure that I stay grounded in the realness of Hip-Hop. But don't worry, I have others...

Happy iLL Year!!!!!!!!!!!

1.01.2010

In 2010, our word is born!

Yo! It's finally here, the DubDime. 2009 was fine but it's time to get it in in 2010. Ya iLL Camp conglomerate made some major moves last year. We dropped some classic material, turned down a fugazi deal, sold some publishing to a tv production company, rocked a few shows and most importantly, we got serious & matured as a crew of men. Next year, we'll take it up a notch so we can build off the solid foundation we've laid. Plus, its the 10th year anniversary of the camp so expect some big things.

Expect new music, our own in-house studio, iLL Camp gear, music videos, the return of iLL Fest followed by a tour, and the finalization of some long awaited projects from Loose Cannon, Slam, X-Man & Kompleet. We would like to personally thank our family, friends & fans for their love & support. Hip-Hop will forever live in the Camp and we pledge to always keep it iLL. Blessings.
